Orca Energy Limited ( Orca or the Company ) has been advised by its Fury Joint Venture partner and operator, Senex Energy Limited (ASX: SXY), that the Fury‐1 oil exploration well (refer to Figure below) will be completed and placed on a 10 day initial production test (IPT) in the coming weeks. The test will evaluate deliverability of the resource within the Fury oil field.

The Fury‐1 oil discovery was drilled by Victoria Petroleum in 2009 to assess the oil charged Murta Member. The presence of an oil column over an 18m gross interval was interpreted from the wire line logs, MDT data and sidewall cores. An additional oil sand was also confirmed in the Permian Epsilon Formation.

Production testing was to begin once a workover rig became available and the close proximity of the Mirage Oil Field production facilities offered the opportunity for a pipe line connection from the Fury‐1 oil discovery to the Mirage Oil Field. The testing program was delayed, however, due to abnormally high rains that saw large parts of the Cooper Basin under water for over a year.

Subsequent review and analysis by Senex suggests Fury‐1 has the potential to be a profitable oil producer and more robust than originally anticipated by the operator at the time.

Should the completion and IPT of the Fury‐1 well be successful, a proposed second well may be drilled within the Fury Block.

The nearby Burruna Block exhibits similar sands in the Murta Formation, where multiple wells could be proposed to appraise and develop the structure.

The two blocks are estimated to contain a combined total of approximately 5 million barrels of oil in place.
