Kingston Rule-1 Drilling Update

Orca Energy Limited (ASX: OGY) is pleased to announce that its first unconventional gas exploration well, Kingston Rule-1, is on schedule and is currently at a depth of 2,083 metres. In accordance with the well program the Operator, Senex Energy Limited (ASX: SXY), is currently running and cementing 9[5/8] inch casing in the well.

Following completion of these casing operations the Operator will drill out the casing shoe and drill ahead with 8[1/2] inch hole to the top of the Permian section. The basal section of the Roseneath, Epsilon and Murteree Formations and the upper section of the Patchawarra Formation will be cored to measure gas contents through each of the shale and siltstone intervals. Laboratory desorption tests will be conducted on cored sections to establish gas content and gas composition.

The Patchawarra Formation in the Mettika Embayment contains thick, tight sandstone reservoirs and numerous coal seams in a predominantly sandy sequence. Four core intervals are proposed to evaluate the potential for shale and siltstone reservoirs in the upper Patchawarra and both the coal seams and significant tight gas sand reservoirs in the lower Patchawarra.

The target depth of the well is approximately 2,900 metres. Orca holds a 20% interest in the permit and is free-carried through the drilling of the well by Senex.
