Appointment of Non-Executive Director

FIH group plc, the AIM quoted international group which owns essential services businesses focused on retail, transport and logistics is pleased to announce the appointment of Dominic Lavelle as a non-executive director with effect from 1 December 2019.

Dominic brings to FIH a wide breadth of corporate experience, having worked as a main board director and Chief Financial Officer at a number of UK quoted companies. Most recently, Dominic was Chief Financial Officer of SDL plc from 2013 to 2018. Prior to this, he served in a number of financial roles including Group Finance Director at Allders plc from 2000-2003 and Group Finance Director at Alfred McAlpine plc from 2003-2007. He has worked as a director in the retail, building, construction, support services, property and technology sectors and has gained broad commercial and strategic experience from extensive involvement in corporate restructuring and turnaround situations. 

After graduating in Civil and Structural Engineering from the University of Sheffield in 1984, Dominic started work with Trafalgar House as a civil engineer and then trained with Arthur Andersen and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1989.

With his background and qualifications in finance and accounting Dominic will take on responsibility as Chairman of FIH's Audit Committee.

During the phase of his career when Dominic was recruited to assist companies in difficulties that required corporate reconstruction work, Dominic was director of the following companies that went into administration during his tenure; Blacks Leisure Group Plc and its subsidiaries and Erinaceous Group plc parent company and non-core businesses. Blacks Leisure Group was sold via pre-packed administration and Erinaceous Group was sold in part through a pre-packaged deal at the wishes and benefit of the relevant stakeholders  Both transactions had the full support of all relevant stakeholders.
