APPOINTMENT OF WOLFGANG FISCHER AS NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Perth-based exploration company Emergent Resources Limited (ASX: EMG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Wolfgang Fischer as an independent Non-executive Director of its Board of Directors, taking effect immediately.

Mr Fischer has a strong accent on corporate governance standards, and he will provide the board of Emergent with the benefit of his considerable experience in the natural resources industry, in both minerals and petroleum development, from project start-up to optimal production and operating joint ventures.

The appointment of Mr Fischer will further enhance the present skill set of the Emergent team during the next vital stage of the Company’s transformation from successful explorer to miner of both its recently discovered high quality hematite direct shipping ore (DSO) and high quality magnetite concentrate from the rapidly developing Beyondie Iron project (which has a current JORC inferred Resource of 561 million tonnes of magnetite grading 27.5% Fe).

Mr Fischer has more than 35 years of top level experience in the Australian and international natural resources industry. He has held executive management and Board positions in a range of operational and corporate roles with several large and successful international petroleum, and exploration and development companies.

His distinguished career includes several oil discoveries with multi-billion barrel reserves, and his track record highlights his ability in project development leading to maximized production with optimized efficiency.

He is Chairman of two international boards of the largest international non-government development organisation, assisting people with disabilities in the developing world, which generates an annual income of in excess of €100 million (A$140 million).

Mr Fischer has for many years been a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy and the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He graduated from University of Melbourne in 1974 with a first class honours Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in geology and geophysics.

On his appointment Mr Fischer commented: “Most of my working life has been devoted to the natural resources industry. I have noted the remarkable progress that the Emergent team has made in just a little over two years since its ASX debut. There is no doubt Emergent is now entering an exciting and crucial development phase. I look forward to contributing significantly to its future success through my directorship.”
