First Derivatives strengthens board of directors

FD (AIM:FDP.L, ESM:FDP.I), a leading provider of software and consulting services, announces the appointment of Virginia Gambale to the Board of the Company as a Non Executive Director with immediate effect.

A U.S. citizen, Ms. Gambale has extensive experience as an enterprise technology buyer in capital markets, a technology venture capital partner and an independent director across diverse industry sectors.

Ms. Gambale is managing partner of Azimuth Partners LLC, which assists in the development of strategies for growth, innovation and international expansion. In this role she has helped to scale international businesses, including Piper Jaffray, Infonic AG, Knoa Software, Workbrain and IQ Financial Systems. Prior to forming Azimuth, she was a partner at Deutsche Bank Capital Partners. During her career, she has also held senior management positions at Merrill Lynch, Bankers Trust, Deutsche Bank and Marsh & McLennan Companies, Inc.

Ms. Gambale is currently a director of JetBlue Airways Corporation (NASDAQ: JBLU), and Dundee Global Corporation (TSX:DC.A). She is a member of the Mentor Faculty and Thesis Evaluation Board for Columbia University's Graduate Masters in Technology Leadership and a guest lecturer at Columbia University, the National Association of Corporate Directors, and the CIO Institute. She earned a B.S. degree in mathematics and computer science with a minor in business from the New York Institute of Technology.
