Appointment of Group Chief Executive

FBD Holdings plc ("FBD" or the "Group") is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Fiona Muldoon as Group Chief Executive with immediate effect.  It is intended that she will also be appointed as Chief Executive of FBD Insurance plc, subject to regulatory approval.

Ms. Muldoon joined FBD in January of this year and assumed the role of Interim Chief Executive on 31 July.

Commenting on the appointment, the Chairman, Mr. Michael Berkery, said:

"I am delighted to announce Fiona's appointment as Group Chief Executive.  Fiona has already made a very significant impact in FBD since joining the Group in January and played a pivotal role in the successful capital raising in FBD Insurance plc announced on 16 September.  Fiona came through an extensive search and selection process which was externally managed and the Board is very pleased to appoint someone of her calibre to the position.  She takes the helm at a very important time for FBD as we focus on returning our business to profitability.  I wish Fiona every success in her career with FBD."

Ms. Fiona Muldoon joined FBD in January 2015.  Previously, she was Director of Credit Institutions and Insurance Supervision at the Central Bank from August 2011 to May 2014.  A Chartered Accountant, Ms. Muldoon spent 17 years of her career with the insurer, XL Group in Dublin, London and Bermuda, where she worked in senior financial and general management positions.  She is a non-executive Director of Bank of Ireland.
