Completion of dispatch of Explanatory Memorandum and satisfaction of FIRB conditions

Catalpa Resources Limited ( Catalpa ) yesterday completed dispatch of its Explanatory Memorandum and Notice of Meeting for the shareholders meeting to be held at 10:00am (Perth time) on 14 October 2011 in relation to the proposed merger by scheme of arrangement with Conquest Mining Limited and asset purchase from, and share issue to, Newcrest Mining Limited ( Newcrest ) (together, the Transaction ).

Additionally, Catalpa and Newcrest have received correspondence from the Foreign Investment Review Board ( FIRB ) that satisfies the conditions precedent to Transaction relating to FIRB.
