General

The Company has in the past three months made substantial progress in implementing its dewatering and drilling strategy.

Shareholders and potential investors may view additional photographs of dewatering and earthworks progress at the Company's updated website on www.westoniamines.com.au.

Dewatering

Following the achievement of steady state pumping performance on 8 September, considerable progress has been made in dewatering the Westonia open pit.

The Company's decision to purchase a new diesel driven centrifugal pumping installation has proven to be very effective. The pontoon mounted pump is delivering around 20,000 tonnes of water per day directly to the evaporation ponds. System performance and reliability have been good and supplier support, when fine-tuning the installation has been first rate.

At the time of this release, the Company is pleased to advise that it is now more than half way towards completely dewatering the pit and that, of the pit floor so far exposed, clean-up requirements are less than expected. In excess of 900,000 tonnes of water has so far been pumped from the pit and it is expected that the pit will be fully dewatered by the latter half of November.

At the time of writing, management has decided to halt earthworks construction of new evaporation pond capacity, as it is apparent that the full scope of previously calculated pond area will not be required. As a consequence, significant cost savings compared to the original budget will occur.

The Company is currently investigating methods by which the standing water table may be drawn down in the old underground workings to well below the pit floor. Success in doing so will guarantee appropriate RC sample quality and reduce the expenditure risk associated with switching to diamond drilling in the planned deeper resource infill holes.

Drilling

Westonia Mines' planned drilling programme comprises two stages, totalling over 17,000 metres. all of which is planned as RC drilling.

It is expected that the duration of the drilling programme will be 4-5 months.

The first stage, consisting of over 10,000 metres of RC drilling will be a programme of intensive grade control (5m x 5m pattern) conducted to 20-25 metres below the pit floor.

The second stage of drilling involves around 7,000 metres of deeper resource conversion and infill drill holes.

Drill hole design, as well as documentation of QA/QC protocols are well advanced and will be completed in time for the commencement of pit drilling. Sample quality and assaying techniques are matters receiving a high level of attention.

The Company is pleased to announce that it has executed a drilling contract to carry out the anticipated 4-5 months of drilling work at Westonia. The drillers will commence site mobilisation during the first week of November.

Exploration

Further to the adoption of a short term exploration strategy as advised in the June 2005 Quarterly Report, the Company is planning to conduct further activities on its top two ranked exploration targets in January 2006. Initial drill testing of a near-mine gold target will occur, as well as an airborne geophysical survey and possible drill testing of a base metals prospect.

In addition, the Company has decided to commit to a longer term exploration strategy and has engaged Dr Bryan Smith of Bryan Smith Geosciences to undertake a Structural and Prospectivity Review of the Westonia Greenstone Belt over the coming months.
