TRADING HALT
The securities of Catalpa Resources Limited (the "Company") will be placed in pre-open at the request of the Company, pending the release of an announcement by the Company. Unless ASX decides otherwise, the securities will remain in pre-open until the earlier of the commencement of normal trading on Monday, 30 March 2009 or when the announcement is released to the market.

CATALPA RESOURCES LIMITED: REQUEST FOR TRADING HALT
Catalpa Resources Limited ACN 084 669 036 (the Company) hereby requests a trading halt pursuant to ASX Listing Rule 17.1, pending the release of an announcement by the Company regarding a proposed equity raising for the development of the Edna May Project.
The Company requests the trading halt to continue until the release of that announcement by the Company, which is expected to be made no later than commencement of trading on Monday, 30 March 2009.
The Company is not aware of any reason why the trading halt should not be granted.
