Regulation FD Disclosure

On January 12, 2007, Northeast Utilities (“NU”) announced that Shirley M. Payne will be elected Vice President and Controller of NU and its subsidiaries. It is expected that Ms. Payne will be elected to her NU position at the February 13, 2007 meeting of NU’s Board of Trustees and to her NU subsidiary officer positions in late January 2007.
