Appointment of Specialist Lithium Borates Technical Advisor and Commencement of Fieldwork
Jadar Lithium Limited (ASX: JDR ) (“ Jadar ” or “the Company ”) is pleased to announce the appointment of a specialist lithium borates technical advisor, Mr Jerry Aiken.
Mr. Aiken has over 46 years of experience in the minerals industry in various positions, including roles within the Exploration Departments of ASARCO and 30 years for Rio Tinto Borax Exploration. Mr. Aiken has also acted as a consulting geologist to various clients including SRK Consulting, in the lithium and borate industry. The majority of Mr. Aiken’s experience over the last two decades has been focused on lithium, borates and potash project exploration and development.
Mr. Aiken has been extensively involved in numerous programs, throughout all stages of lithium and borate project exploration. These programs have covered the western United States, Canada, Mexico, South America, portions of Europe and Asia, including Serbia and Turkey.
He has also worked on projects focused on lithium brine deposits and exploration in South America including Argentina, Chile, as well as, in central Nevada, USA.
Mr. Aiken has a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Michigan University and Master Studies in Economic Geology at the University of Idaho.
Mr. Aiken is a registered member of SME and a registered geologist in the State of Washington. He is a QP/QC for both NI 43-101 and JORC and has signed off for several clients on geology and resource evaluation in Technical Reports. He has also conducted project evaluation, due diligence, exploration programs and design for a number of clients around the world.
Commenting on the appointment of Mr. Aiken, Non-Executive Chairman Mr Luke Martino said: “ We are delighted that Mr. Aiken has joined our technical team. We are confident that Mr Aiken’s experience in lithium and borate projects will add significant value to the Company throughout its exploration program on its projects in Serbia ”.
The Company is further pleased to advise that Jadar has set up an operational office in Belgrade, the capital city of Serbia, from where the Company will be managing its in country operations. The Company has also engaged further experienced geologists and field technicians, who will be executing Jadar's in-country exploration program. The team has significant exploration experience, including previous work in the lithium sector. Initial fieldwork has already commenced on the Cer and Bukulja projects, where reconnaissance mapping; outcrop sampling and stream sampling is currently underway.
