SYLVIE LALLEMENT JOINS EUTELSAT COMMUNICATIONS AS GENERAL COUNSEL

Paris, 11 May 2009

Giuliano Berretta, Chairman and CEO of Eutelsat Communications (Euronext Paris: ETL) today announced the nomination of Sylvie Lallement as Group General Counsel and member of the Group's Executive Committee. She succeeds Philippe McAllister who has left the Group to pursue other professional opportunities.

Sylvie Lallement joins Eutelsat Communications from the post of Group General Counsel at Altran Technologies, a European leader in innovation consulting, which she joined in 2003. From 1995 to 2003 she was General Counsel of Alcatel Business Systems, having worked from 1990 to 1995 as International Counsel of Alcatel at its company headquarters.

Aged 49, and of French nationality, Sylvie Lallement graduated in law from King's College London and Harvard Law School and holds a Masters in French and English law from the Université Paris I. She began her career in 1985 as a lawyer in the Corporate Department of the New York offices of Debevoise & Plimpton.
