MICHEL DE ROSEN JOINS EUTELSAT COMMUNICATIONS AS DEPUTY CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Paris, 11 June, 2009

The Board of Eutelsat Communications (Euronext Paris: ETL) today unanimously approved the proposal from its Chairman Giuliano Berretta to nominate Michel de Rosen as Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

Michel de Rosen joins Eutelsat Communications on 1 July. He will collaborate closely with Giuliano Berretta in advance of assuming the position of Chief Executive Officer after the General Assembly of Shareholders which will take place in November 2009. Giuliano Berretta will continue thereafter as Chairman of the Board.

Giuliano Berretta declared: "As Chairman of the Board, and on behalf of its members, I welcome the arrival of Michel de Rosen whose successful managerial experience in industrial enterprises, notably in high technology, will strengthen our skills as we pursue our growth. With Michel's solid track record at the helm of international enterprises he is fully-equipped to assume executive responsibilities at Eutelsat and to become CEO of the company in November. Michel de Rosen (58 years) is a graduate of the HEC business school and France's National School of Administration (ENA - Ecole Nationale d'Administration). He began his career in France in the Inspection générale des finances in the Ministry of Finance and from 1986 to 1988 was Chief of Staff of the Minister of Industry and Telecommunications. From 1988 to 1999 he held executive positions at Rhône-Poulenc including CEO of Rhône-Poulenc Fibers and Polymers from 1988 to 1993, and CEO of Rhône-Poulenc Rorer (USA) from 1993 to 1999. From 2000 to 2008 he was Chairman and CEO of ViroPharma in the USA. He returned to France in 2008 to the position of Chairman and CEO of SGD.
