Paris, 15 December 2008 – 20 days after the release of the film TRANSPORTER 3, EuropaCorp, producer and distributor of feature films and one of Europe's leading independent film studios in Europe, can confirm today the success of the launch of this third instalment in the film series in France and internationally.
So far, TRANSPORTER 3 has totalled more than 1.1 million admissions in France, more than 1.5 million admissions in Russia, some 300,000 admissions in Great-Britain and more than 4 million admissions in the USA, or an American Box Office of about US\$30 million. So far, there are plans to release the film in 50 countries worldwide.
These first figures already make TRANSPORTER 3 a blockbuster - especially in France, whereas TRANSPORTER 1 and 2 achieved 530,000 and 1,230,000 French admissions respectively.
The total budget for TRANSPORTER 3 was €30 million. At the time of its release, the Group's investment cover for the film's production was more than 120%.
This success confirms the relevance of EuropaCorp's strategy to increase its positioning on the production of sagas and to strengthen its development of films with a high international potential.
