Etherstack wins Federal Police Digital Radio Network in Canada
Etherstack plc is pleased to announce the group has won a strategically important contract to supply Etherstack’s digital radio network technology to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) via its’ Canadian systems integration partner, Cartel Communications Systems Inc.
The project involves the delivery, commissioning and on-going support of a highly secure encrypted digital radio network spanning 26 sites for the RCMP as well as command and control systems and advanced location services technology based on Etherstack’s proven fault tolerant APCO P25 digital radio network product line.
The initial order value is approximately CAD$1.7m of which the majority will be recognised in FY2020. Subsequent expansion orders are expected after the successful completion of the first stage, as well as long term annual support contracts which typically run for 10 to 15 years.
Etherstack’s P25 digital radio network is manufactured in Australia and deployed with public safety agencies, electric utilities and defence organisations around the world. The RCMP network will be Etherstack’s second largest network in Canada, after an 80-site network in Alberta Province, and is Etherstack’s eighth large scale network deployed in North America over the past decade.
Etherstack is currently supporting large scale police, emergency services and electric utility P25 networks in Idaho, New Jersey, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia, as well as numerous smaller P25 networks including US federal agencies.
