Ergon Energy Stage 2 Deployment Commencement
Etherstack is pleased to announce that Airwave Solutions (Australia) Pty Limited, a customer of Etherstack's wholly owned subsidiary Auria Wireless Pty Ltd, has commenced Stage 2 deployment of the Ergon Energy Digital Radio Network using APCO P25 technology and equipment from Auria Wireless.
After the initial successful deployment of 20 digital radio network sites by Airwave Solutions using Auria Wireless technology and equipment in southern Queensland last year in Stage 1, this new stage will see an expansion of the digital radio network into the Townsville and Cairns regions of the State.
The first stage network in the Toowoomba region has been in operation for over 12 months including providing continuous service during the floods caused by Cyclone Oswald in January this year.
The digital radio network equipment manufactured in Australia by Auria Wireless will be supplied to Airwave Solutions under a multimillion dollar contract over the next 18 month period. Additional engineering services and support services will be supplied under the multiyear contract.
This latest deployment follows on from the recent successful deployments of similar Etherstack based digital radio networks to the American Samoa Department of Homeland Security and a current network expansion underway in the city of Rostov-on-Don for the Russian Police Force.
