Ericsson Nikola Tesla is developing the register of buildings for the area of Varaždin County

Ericsson Nikola Tesla and State Geodetic Administration continue a successful cooperation by signing an agreement for geoinformatics services on establishing a register of buildings for the area of Varaždin County and to create a multipurpose information system of register of buildings. The contract is worth almost HRK 8 million (VAT excluded).

Ericsson Nikola Tesla will develop the IT system for the entire Republic of Croatia, in cooperation with the geodetic companies Zavod za fotogrametriju, GEO-GAUSS, GEOSOFT, Geo Grupa and CADCOM, that will create the methodology to collect and process data and will collect and process data for Varaždin County. The planned implementation time is 22 months.

This is not only the continuation of activities in land administration, but also a strategic project, as nowadays many institutions have the data regarding buildings, however, they are not aligned. Taking into consideration that there are not even the unique identifiers of buildings, the register of buildings will represent a central place, useful to many state bodies, local authorities, and citizens. It is worth mentioning that the existence of the register of buildings would make some of the activities easier and faster when repairing the damage, such as the one caused by the recent earthquakes.

The agreement is financed by grants from the Priority axis 2. Use of Information and Communication Technologies of the Operational Programme "Competitiveness and Cohesion" 2014 -2020 of the European Regional Development Fund.
