EnviTec Biogas AG receives EUR 42 million order
EnviTec Biogas AG / Contract
Release of an Ad hoc announcement according to § 15 WpHG, transmitted by
DGAP - a company of EquityStory AG.

Lohne, October 2, 2007 – EnviTech Biogas AG (ISIN: DE000A0MVLS8, WKN
[German Securities No.]: A0MVLS), headquartered in Lohne, Lower Saxony
State, today received another major contract for a biogas park. The Company
will deliver the facilities for a processing plant in Guestrow that will
transform biogas into natural-gas-quality gas. The order includes all the
engineering technology and hardware for the treatment plant. In the future,
this plant will generate 10,000 cubic meters of biogas per hour, convert it
into natural-gas-quality gas and feed it into the natural gas network. That
corresponds to an electrical connected load of around 22 megawatts per
hour.
This will make it the world’s largest biogas processing plant to date to be
connected to the natural gas network. The customer is NAWARO Engineering
GmbH, of Leipzig, for which EnviTec is already building the world's largest
biogas park in Penkun, in the State of Mecklenburg-Pomerania. The total
contract volume is approximately EUR 42 million. The first processed biogas
should be fed into the natural gas network in the fall of 2008.
Information and Explaination of the Issuer to this News:
'We chose EnviTec because we needed a partner, who has already proven its
ability in handling such a huge and innovative project,' said Felix Hess,
Chairman of NAWARO BioEnergie AG, explaining why he selected the company
from Lower Saxony. The new plant consists of six modules with around 1,700
cubic meters, which corresponds to an electrical connected load of 3.5
megawatts equivalent each. They are quite cost-effective to build and
operate; the construction is expected to begin in March 2008 and the
modules will be commissioned in multiple phases.
During production, processing will raise the biogas' methane content from
an average of 55% to over 97%; with methane loss at less than 1%.
'Once again, such a project demonstrates the advantages of biogas',
explains Olaf von Lehmden, CEO of EnviTec Biogas AG. 'Biogas can be stored,
bottled in tanks and transported through the existing natural gas network.
We can produce it in Guestrow, which has the optimum conditions, but it can
then be used anywhere in Germany. Over the long term, that will lead to
high efficiency while easing the strain on the electric grids.' Biogas can
be used to supply both base-load and peak-load power (system load below
which the electric grid does not fall during the day, or a short-term spike
in energy demand on the electric grid). Von Lehmden: 'We are convinced that
biogas will soon develop into a viable alternative to fossil fuel sources
if a reliable political framework can be guaranteed in the future, as
well.'
