EnviTec Biogas reports good sales and earnings performance for Q3:
Projections for full year 2008 confirmed
Lohne, 10 November 2008 – Following a difficult first half-year, EnviTec
Biogas AG [ISIN: DE000A0MVLS8] reported a good sales and earnings
performance in Q3 2008. According to preliminary figures, the manufacturer
of biogas plants generated sales of approx. EUR 32.4 million between July
and September. This means that third-quarter sales exceeded the sales
reported for the first six months (EUR 32.1 million). Third-quarter
earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) amounted to EUR 2.2 million based
on preliminary figures. In the first half of the year, EnviTec Biogas had
reported EBIT in an amount of EUR -1.4 million.
The positive performance in the third quarter was attributable to both
exports and the domestic business. The amendment of the German Renewable
Energy Sources Act in June means that reliable and attractive conditions
are in place again in the German biogas market. As a leading manufacturer
of biogas plants, EnviTec clearly benefits from this situation. This is
also reflected in orders on hand, which amounted to roughly EUR 188 million
as of the end of September. Orders from foreign customers accounted for
approx. EUR 57 million of this amount. 'As we had expected, business picked
up in the third quarter,' says CFO Jörg Fischer. 'Due to the difficult
conditions that prevailed in the first six months, we are still below the
previous year’s level, but the trend is clearly upward. The German market
is returning to its former strength, and the international conditions
remain excellent.' Sales in the first nine months totalled EUR 64.5 million
(previous year: EUR 102.2 million), while EBIT for the same period amounted
to EUR 0.8 million (previous year: EUR 15.8 million).
The positive business performance should continue in the fourth quarter.
'We expect both sales and earnings to increase over the third quarter,'
says Jörg Fischer. The Executive Board maintains its full-year projections,
according to which sales will amount to between EUR 105 and 115 million and
EBIT to between EUR 5 and 8 million. Next year the positive sales and
earnings performance should continue.
The full nine-month report will be published on 27 November 2008.
