TRADING HALT
The securities of Photon Group Limited (the “Company”) will be placed in pre-open at the request of the Company, pending the release of an announcement by the Company. Unless ASX decides otherwise, the securities will remain in pre-open until the earlier of the commencement of normal trading on Wednesday, 19 August 2009 or when the announcement is released to the market.

Request by Photon Group Limited for Trading Halt
Pursuant to Listing Rule 17.1, Photon Group Limited ( Photon ) requests an immediate trading halt be granted in relation to Photon’s ordinary shares (ASX Code: PGA). I advise that:

The trading halt is necessary for Photon to make an announcement to the market today in relation to a proposed capital raising, involving an institutional placement and a non-renouncable entitlement offer.

The trading halt is requested until the earlier of 10.00am on Wednesday, 19 August 2009 and the release of an announcement in relation to the outcome of the institutional placement referred to above.

Photon is not aware of any reason why a trading halt should not be granted or of any other information necessary to inform the market about the trading halt.
