BOARD CHANGES FOLLOWING CUD TAKEOVER

Energy Metals Limited ( Energy Metals or Company ) (ASX: EME ) has been advised by China Uranium Development Company Limited ( CUD ), that CUD’s proportional takeover offer for up to 70% of EME shares closed on Friday 18 December 2009 with CUD now holding in excess of 65% of the Company’s issued capital (subject to final confirmation). CUD is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Guangdong Nuclear Power Holding Co. Ltd. ( CGNPC ).

Energy Metals is pleased to announce that following the completion of the takeover offer Messrs He Zuyuan, Luo Huachun and Cui Bin have been appointed as Directors of the Company. Messrs He, Luo and Cui have been appointed the Chairman, Technical Director and Financial Director respectively. Mr Lindsay Dudfield will continue as Executive Director and Mr Geoffrey Jones remains a Nonexecutive Director.

Mr He holds a BSc in Geology and an MBA and has over 21 years professional experience in uranium exploration and financial management. Mr Luo has a Masters degree in geology, together with engineering qualifications, and has over 17 years post graduate experience. Mr Cui holds qualifications in accounting and has 12 years financial management experience.

Energy Metals is pleased that persons with the experience and skills of the new Directors have agreed to join the Board and believes that their appointments will greatly assist the future growth of the Company.

Energy Metals also advises that Mr Oscar Aamodt has resigned as a Director of the Company, effective today. The Board will like to thank Mr Aamodt for his time and effort in building the Company since its listing on the ASX in September 2005 and wishes him well in his future endeavours.
