ENCAVIS secures €200 million non-recourse bridge financing for acquisition of Italian solar portfolio “Giotto” (265 MW)**

Hamburg, 16 December 2025 – On 10 December 2025, ENCAVIS, a leading pan-European Independent Power Producer in the Renewable Energy sector and headquartered in Hamburg, has successfully closed a €200 million bridge financing facility to fund the acquisition of an Italian solar park portfolio from EDP Renewables Italia Holding S.r.l.

Of the Giotto portfolio’s total capacity of 265 MW, 248 MW are already in operation, while the remaining 17 MW are currently being expanded. The portfolio comprises five Italian solar parks expected to generate an average of 423 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of green electricity annually. The portfolio consists of three projects in Lazio and two in Puglia. Four of the solar parks are secured by long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs) with terms of 10–15 years, while the fifth project benefits from a 20-year bilateral contract for difference (CfD).

UniCredit S.p.A., one of Europe’s leading banks, provided the financing on a non-recourse basis.

“We greatly appreciated the professional collaboration with UniCredit and the full set of external advisors involved in bringing such bridge financing to financial close within this short time period. This financing has made a significant contribution to the successful acquisition of the Giotto portfolio and enables our Project Finance Team to properly structure and place a long-term refinancing at optimised terms in the first half of 2026 ”, says Mario Schirru, CEO of Encavis.
