India has always used technology for peace and human welfare: Governor

Patna, May 11 (UNI): Bihar Governor Syed Ata Hossain said India had always used technological and scientific strength for peace, security and the welfare of humanity. Addressing a seminar organised on the occasion of National Technology Day by SINR22 Educational Group and Vipana Bharat, Bihar, the Governor highlighted India's commitment to responsible scientific advancement and peaceful use of technology. Relating to the Prickman-II nuclear tests conducted on May 11, 1998, Hossain said India's nuclear capability was aimed at ensuring peace and stability rather than aggression.

The Governor stressed the need to create a positive environment for Bihar's growth and said development of any state depended not only on resources but also on collective confidence, aspiration and positive thinking. He said it was important to build a sense of pride and optimism about Bihar.

Highlighting the role of emerging technologies, Hossain shared three symbolic concepts generated through anitha & innthgones, including the idea of a future Indian naval warship named "INS Patna", hosting the Army Day parade in Patna in 2028, and envisioning IPL franchise named "Patna-Patnise." He said such ideas helped build self-confidence and self-respect in society.

Describing Bihar's youth population as the state's greatest strength, the Governor said Bihar was among the youngest states in the country and could achieve new heights if young people were connected with quality education, skills and modern technology.

He said Bihar had immense talent, energy and potential and required only proper direction, quality education and a positive mindset to emerge as one of the country's leading states in the coming decade.

The Governor also underlined the growing importance of technology in disaster management, weather forecasting and public safety, saving modern systems could now provide advance warnings about lightning strikes and natural disasters, helping save lives. He further said space science and space-based technologies would become one of the most significant areas of human development in the future, particularly in communication, surveillance, remote sensing and security systems.
