Reduction of Capital and Return of Value

Empyrean Energy PLC ("Empyrean" or the "Company") announces that the High Court of Justice in England and Wales has made an order approving the Reduction of Capital and the Court Order was registered by the Registrar of Companies today.  The Return of Value is also effective today.

Details of the Reduction of Capital and the Return of Value were set out in the circular to Shareholders dated 3 October 2016 ("Circular") and the resolution relating to the Reduction of Capital and the Return of Value was approved by Shareholders at the General Meeting held on 19 October 2016.  All capitalised terms in this announcement are as defined in the Circular.

Following the Reduction of Capital, the total number of ordinary shares of 0.2p each in issue remains at 221,833,853.

It is expected that CREST accounts will be credited or cheques despatched (as appropriate) in respect of the Capital Repayment during week commencing 14 November 2016.
