APPOINTMENT OF CEO / COO
Emerald Oil & Gas NL (“Emerald”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Mike Krzus as CEO/COO with immediate effect.
Mike Krzus is an experienced petroleum industry executive with over 25 years experience managing technical and business areas in upstream oil & gas, LNG and geothermal. He holds a Diploma in Oil and Gas Technology from the British Columbia Institute of Technology and a BSc. in Petroleum Engineering Tulsa University.
After starting as a Reservoir Engineer with Home Oil in Calgary in 1983, he began a 22 year career at Woodside Petroleum in 1986 starting as a Business Analyst and then Senior Production Technologist before moving to Woodside’s Melbourne corporate office in 1990. With Woodside he has held various technical and commercial positions in Business Development, Business Planning, Joint Venture management (North West Shelf) and Upstream oil and gas Development, including a four year secondment to Shell, leading gas field development teams in the Netherlands. Most recently, Mike managed Eden Energy’s geothermal assets as Executive Director of Terratherma, a wholly owned Eden company.
Mike’s first focus will be to consolidate Emerald’s Appalachian gas business in the USA by delivering production from the company’s current Appalachian Gas development projects and implementing plans to ensure a long term production and resource base upon which to grow the company’s asset base.
Mr Krzus’ remuneration package includes 5m incentive options exercisable at 10 cents each which will. subject to shareholder approval, be issued following completion of a 6 month probationary period.
Emerald’s board is pleased to have someone of Mike’s considerable oil and gas development experience join the company to drive development of the Appalachian Basin Gas project and progress Emerald’s other exploration interests in the USA such as the NW Alice gas discovery in Texas and our newly awarded Canning Basin exploration permits.
