Increase in sales of more than 15% expected

Dortmund, March 18, 2010: ELMOS Semiconductor AG (FSE: ELG) achieved sales
of 123.8 million Euro in past fiscal year 2009 (2008: 175.1 million Euro).
The gross profit went down to 35.9 million Euro (2008: 75.6 million Euro),
the gross margin came to 29.0% (2008: 43.2%). Earnings before interest and
taxes (EBIT) dropped to -15.8 million Euro (2008: 16.5 million Euro). The
group's net loss after considering minority interest was -12.2 million Euro
(2008: net income of 10.6 million Euro). The decrease in sales and earnings
is due to the global economic and automotive crisis. Based on a group-wide
bundle of cost saving measures worth roughly 15 million Euro, an even
greater reduction of earnings could be prevented.

Capital expenditures were scaled down considerably in 2009 and dropped to
7.4 million Euro (2008: 20.8 million Euro). Despite the negative earnings,
positive figures were achieved for the operating cash flow (9.4 million
Euro) as well as the free cash flow (3.9 million Euro).

'We are basically optimistic in our outlook for the future on the basis of
economic factors. However, it has not become clearly apparent yet if the
present upswing will continue in the second half-year. The general economic
situation is still holding risks', says Dr. Anton Mindl, CEO of ELMOS
Semiconductor AG.

Due to the good start into the year 2010, ELMOS expects an increase in
sales of more than 15% for the whole year. EBIT and cash flow will be
positive in 2010. Furthermore, capital expenditures will turn out
significantly below 15% in relation to sales. The structural cost saving
measures which make ELMOS more productive and more competitive will be
continued consistently.

Management Board and Supervisory Board consider it the right course of
action in view of the overall economy and the negative earnings in 2009 to
keep the liquid funds in the company and not to pay a dividend.
