APPOINTMENT OF NEW CHAIRMAN & MANAGING DIRECTOR

The Directors of Elixir Petroleum Limited (ASX: EXR, AIM: ELP, "Company" or Elixir") are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Jonathan Stewart, an existing director of the Company, as Chairman, and Mr Andrew Ross, also an existing director of the Company, as Managing Director of Elixir effective from today's date.

Mr John Robertson, Elixir’s former Chairman will continue as a non-executive director of the Company. Mr Russell Langusch has resigned as Managing Director of the Company, but will remain an executive of the Company through until mid-February.

Details of Mr Stewart’s and Mr Ross’ qualifications and experience are set out in the notice of the Company's forthcoming AGM, which is to be held tomorrow, 30 November 2007 at 11 am (WDST) at Level 31, 77 St Georges Terrace, Perth Western Australia 6000.

The Board of Elixir wish to take this opportunity to thank both Mr Robertson and Mr Langusch for their significant contributions to the Company in their respective roles as Chairman and Managing Director. Mr Robertson is to continue as a non-executive director of the Company, however Mr Langusch intends to return to Australia from London in the New Year to pursue other business interests having been based in London with Elixir for the past three and a half years. Mr Langusch will remain employed by Elixir through to the middle of February to assist with the ongoing integration of operations and administration following the recent acquisition of Gawler Resources.
