TAMAYA SAMPLING INTERSECTS FURTHER HIGH-GRADE COPPER

Highlights

  • High-grade copper values up to 3.74% from vein samples and 2.49% over four metres from channel sampling

  • Larger zones of lower-grade copper mineralisation intersected including 22 metres at 0.54%. Structures remain open along strike and at depth

Elementos Limited (ASX: ELT) (“Elementos” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce 57 new sample results from the Tamaya Project, central Chile.

The new sample results are from the Campanil and Almagro prospects, and the old Dichosa and San Jose mine workings. Best intersections include:

Campanil

  • 0.41% copper over 17.5 metres

  • Incl. 0.8% copper over 4.8 metres;

  • 2.16% copper over 3.9 metres; and

  • 1.02% copper over 2.9 metres.

Almagro

  • 2.49% copper over 4.1 metres; and

  • 0.72% copper over 6.0 metres.

Dichosa

  • 3.74% copper and 0.39 g/t gold over 1.0 metres (vein sample);

  • 1.67% copper and 0.49 g/t gold over 0.8 metres (vein sample); and

  • 0.54% copper over 22 metres (channel sample)

  • Incl. 1.39% copper over 8 metres.

San Jose

  • 0.71% copper over 10 metres

o Incl. 1.15% copper over 6 metres.

These results continue to show the potential for large volumes of moderate to lowgrade mineralisation, supplemented by high-grade mineralisation within the structures. These structures and the potential porphyry target will be drill tested later in 2012.

On-going Exploration Activities

Detailed continuous channel sampling and localised fine-scale mapping programs are underway over the principle targets identified to date. The infill sampling will assist with better understanding the copper grade distributions across the width of the structures and the genesis of the gold mineralisation within the system.

The second phase geophysical survey is currently underway, involving up to 36 line kilometres of Induced Polarisation Pole-dipole survey lines, and is testing for:

  • Porphyry mineralisation in the eastern sector as indicated by the encouraging results of the recent mapping, sampling and ground-magnetometry survey; and

  • Structurally related mineralisation in the three main north-south structural trends, including the main vein that was historically mined for high-grade copper (sulphide) mineralisation.

COMPETENT PERSON STATEMENT

The information in this report that relates to Exploration Results, Mineral Resources or Ore Reserves is based on information compiled by Mr Alistair Grahame, a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists. Mr Grahame is a full-time employee of Elementos Limited and has sufficient experience which is relevant to the style of mineralisation and type of deposit under consideration and to the activity which it is undertaking to qualify as a Competent Person as defined in the 2004 Edition of the ‘Australasian Code for Reporting of Exploration Results, Mineral Resources and Ore Reserves.’ Mr Grahame consents to the inclusion in the report of the matters based on his information in the form and context.

SAMPLE QUALITY CONTROL AND ASSURANCE

  • Chip channel samples by manual sampling, not sawn channels, due to safety factors;

  • Sample widths are the apparent widths measured along channels, not true widths, if divergent; and

  • Intersections are simple weighted averages of consecutive samples.

Samples were prepared and assayed by ALS Chile (ALS), Minerals Division, at their facility in Coquimbo, an ISO9001:2008 certified laboratory. Methods utilised were:

  • Copper assay by Four Acid Digest and Atomic Absorption Spectrometer (AAS);

  • Gold assay by Fire Assay (30g) and AAS;

  • Thirty-three element ICP_AES; and

  • Samples returning greater than 1.0 g/t gold are check analysed by ALS using the same method.

NOTE - The work included continuous rock-chip channel sampling where possible. However, in some areas, the
terrain and unstable disused workings required multiple non-contiguous channels in order to maintain coverage
across the width of the structure.
