27 January 2014Elementis -Appointment of Deputy Chairman and non-executive Chairman-DesignateElementis plc (ELM.L) (the "Company"), the FTSE 250 Global Specialty ChemicalsCompany, today announces the appointment of Andrew Duff as non-executive DeputyChairman of the Company. The appointment is effective from 1 April 2014 and hewill become non-executive Chairman following the conclusion of the AnnualGeneral Meeting on 24 April 2014.Andrew Duff, 54, has been non-executive Chairman of Severn Trent PLC, the FTSE100 water and waste treatment services company, since July 2010. He was anon-executive director of Wolseley plc, the international plumbing and buildingmaterials company, between 2004 and December 2013 where he was also the SeniorIndependent Director and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee. From 2003until 2010, he was Chief Executive Officer of npower, the successor entity toInnogy plc which in 2000 was demerged from and restructured then sold byNational Power to RWE, the German electricity and gas company, where he wasalso a member of the Group Executive Committee. Before that he spent 16 yearsat BP in marketing, strategy and oil trading. He joined National Power in 1998as General Manager, Trading.Andrew is a mechanical engineer, member of the CBI President's Committee,Trustee of Macmillan Cancer Support and Earth Trust and a Fellow of the EnergyInstitute.Ian Brindle, Chairman of Elementis, said: "On behalf of the Board, I amdelighted that Andrew has agreed to become the next Chairman of Elementis.
