Elbit Systems Announces the Results of its Annual General Meeting of Shareholders Held on August 17, 2006

Haifa, Israel, August 17, 2006 Elbit Systems Ltd. (the "Company") (NASDAQ Global Select Market: ESLT) announced today that at its Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (the "Meeting") held on August 17, 2006 at the Company's offices in Haifa, the proposed resolutions described in the Proxy Statement to the Shareholders dated July 13, 2006, (the "Proxy") described below were approved by the required majority:

1. Election of seven directors to the Company's Board of Directors;
2. Election of Mr. Yaacov Lifshitz, who currently serves as an External Director on the Company's Board of Directors, to an additional three-year term as an External Director; and
3. Appointment of the Company's independent auditors for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2006.
