Trian Fund Management, L.P. (“ Trian ”) provided a written statement to CNBC on the morning of April 2, 2015 as follows: “Our flagship fund has generated a 137% return net of fees since inception in November 2005, outpacing the S&P 500 by 2,900 bps.” When Nelson Peltz was interviewed later in the day on CNBC he mistakenly referred to that outperformance as 3,400 bps rather than the correct figure of 2,900 bps.
