Egide will attend the Laser World of Photonics China 2014 tradeshow in Shanghai

Reflecting its strategy of ramping up sales efforts in strong growth regions for its products (high-end hermetic packages), Egide will participate in the Laser World of Photonics China tradeshow on March 18-20, 2014. Held every year in March, this tradeshow is Asia's leading optics and photonics industry event with more than 500 exhibiting companies and 36,000 visitors in 2013.

At the French Pavilion, Egide will showcase its expertise and innovative solutions in three key photonic and microwave technology markets:

• Defense: infrared detection packages
• Egide is the world leader for circular connector packages equipping high-performance cooled infrared systems
• This type of product has already been validated by several Chinese companies located in four different provinces with one in serial production since 2011
• Telecommunications: 100 Gb/s receiver packages
• Egide is one of the only market players capable of designing and manufacturing such packages. Since 2011, Egide's R&D efforts have focused to a large extent on the development of high-tech packages for high-capacity needs and, in particular, 100 Gb/s packages for telecom applications. Such systems require complex, hermetic packages with ceramic feedthroughs for which technical expertise and industrial excellence are essential.
• Manufacturing: packages for microwave components
• Contributions from studies conducted within competitive clusters have enabled Egide to develop a range of products for the growing market of microwave components operating at the 40 GHz frequency range. These SMD (Surface Mountable Devices) packages are used in ground and onboard radar systems for space applications.
