At the SPIE Defence, Security and Sensing show which is currently held in Orlando from 26 to 28 April 2011, Egide displays its complete range of solutions for infra-red detection.
Infra-red technology, used in a quickly increasing number of applications, is one of the stars of the Defence, Security and Sensing show which is held annually in Orlando (Florida). This technology requires complex hermetic packages that only few companies can provide. Egide, with its unique know-how in the design and manufacture of these packages, serves the world's leading players in the field and is acknowledged as market leader.
Derived from military applications, the infra-red technology is now used in a number of civil areas and is growing rapidly. For more and more applications, civil or military, the possibility to see as well at night as during the day, regardless of the conditions (fog, heavy snow, smoke) has become indispensable. Numerous needs are coming to the fore in areas as diverse as the home (visualisation of heat losses), health (uncovering of passengers with fever), or industrial safety (predictive maintenance). Infra-red detection requires components that can operate in deep vacuum and thus, high-performing hermetic solutions are needed.
The infra-red package solutions designed by Egide cover both families of products: glass-to-metal packages and ceramic insert packages. This means that Egide can propose the most flexible solution to its customers, whether this applies to the shape (square, circular or octagonal) or the performance. In addition, for certain customer accounts, Egide can assemble other indispensable elements for infra-red detection such as pump tubes, thermoelectric coolers or getters.
