EDP RENOVÁVEIS IS AWARDED A LONG‐TERM RESA FOR 248.4 MW OF WIND ONSHORE IN CANADA

Lisbon, December 14th 2017: Pursuant to the terms and for the purposes of the article 17 of Regulation (EU) No. 596/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council and of article 248-A of the Portuguese Securities code, EDP - Energias de Portugal, S.A. ("EDP") is providing the following information to the market:

EDP Renováveis, S.A. ("EDPR"), 82.6% controlled by EDP, announced today that its subsidiary, EDP Renewables Canada Ltd. was awarded by The Alberta Electricity System Operator ("AESO") a 20‐year Renewable Energy Support Agreement ("RESA"), for the delivery of 248.4 MW of onshore wind generation. The Sharp Hills Wind Farm is located in eastern Alberta, Canada, with commercial operation to occur in December 2019.

According with the auction scheme, the electricity produced by Sharp Hills Wind Farm will be sold to the market and if the realized market price is lower than the awarded price, the difference will be paid by AESO.

The success of EDPR in this auction reinforces the company's low risk profile and its growth strategy based on the development of competitive projects with longterm visibility.
