In accordance with § 15 WpHG (German Securities Trading Act)
edding Group acquires minority interest in Brazilian OPI manufacturer
As of December 3rd, 2014 edding controls approx. 21% of the share capital
of the Brazilian office products manufacturer Companhia de Canetas
Compactor S.A., Rio de Janeiro. The agreed price for the transfer of the
package is 3.3m Euro.
Compactor is one of the largest players within the Brazilian market for
writing instruments and markers. Through this transaction we aim to further
strengthen our competitive position in Latin America. Besides Europe, this
region is the most important market for edding.
In FY 2013 Compactor generated net revenues of approximately 27.8m Euro and
a net profit of 1.2m Euro. Compactor's equity ratio is 70% and its balance
sheet shows total assets of 41.9m Euro.
