Eckert & Ziegler, a specialist for radioactive medical components, has executed an agreement for the delivery of cardio-vascular radiation sources worth more than eight million EUR. The products, which are used for the prevention of restenosis, are scheduled to be shipped within the next three years until the end of 2004. To facilitate production and in order to avoid capacity bottlenecks, the company will implement ahead of schedule an investment of about one million EUR in additional medical device manufacturing equipment. Eckert & Ziegler is a leading developer and producer of medical miniaturized radiation sources. “The agreement adds to a comfortable volume of orders and helps to secure our capacity utilization during the next years”, commented Dr. Andreas Eckert, CEO of the company. “We consequently hope for continued quarterly growth, among other in medical reference source and radioactive implants for the treatment of prostate cancer.
