Ad hoc announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– Eckert & Ziegler Receives Global Supply Contract from General Electric and European Regulatory Approval For Novel Cardio-vascular Component. Berlin, 03.07.2001. Isotope Products Laboratories Inc., California, a fully- owned subsidiary of Eckert & Ziegler AG, has received a global primary source supply contract worth more than 5 mm EUR from General Electric Medical Systems for PET scanner and gamma camera product lines. The agreement will strengthen IPL world market leadership in the nuclear medicine reference market and provide the base for further growth in this dynamic market. “The decision by GEMS illustrates the outstanding position that IPL has achieved in the last years in the PET and gamma camera accessory market”, explains Peter Nilsen, Vice President for Sales and Marketing at IPL. “Almost all major cameras are initially fitted with IPL products and thereby establish a strong basis for the after sales market. Therefore, we are confident, that we can maintain our approximately 2/3 worldwide market share.” In its cardio-vascular business division Eckert & Ziegler also reached an important milestone: in the past days the corporation’s customer Radiance Medical Systems Inc., California, has received the European regulatory approval (CE-mark) for its balloon catheter based system used to deliver a therapeutic dose of radiation to the artery to prevent restenosis. Eckert & Ziegler supplies the low radioactive component for this catheter through its subsidiary BEBIG.
