Appointment of New CEO

The directors of Eastern Iron are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Greg De Ross to the position of CEO of the Company effective from mid-February 2010.

Mr De Ross is a geologist with over 30 years experience in corporate management, exploration and mining. His experience has included a variety of roles in areas covering exploration management, feasibility studies, resource development and mining in commodities such as base and precious metals, uranium, mineral sands, coal and iron ore. He has worked extensively in Central and South East Asia, Oceania and Australia.

Prior to joining Eastern Iron he was General Manager for a Chinese company seeking investment opportunities in the Australian and Chinese resources sector. Previous to this he spent 12 years with Highlands Pacific / Highlands Gold as General Manager Exploration where he had responsibility for exploration and pre-development work on a variety of projects including the Ramu Nickel, Frieda Copper and Kainantu Gold projects.

Mr De Ross has extensive commercial experience covering joint venture negotiation and project acquisition. He is also currently a director of TSX listed Garrison International Ltd.

In tandem with this appointment, Mr Peter Buckley, currently Managing Director of Eastern Iron will move to a non-executive board position as Technical Director. Peter has played an integral role in generating and exploring Eastern Iron's original NSW iron ore exploration package and will continue to assist in outlining new growth opportunities for the Company. The Eastern Iron Board wishes to acknowledge Peter's contributions to date.
