DXN Limited signs its largest contract to deliver four Cable Landing Stations for ~A$5.7m (~US$3.8m)

Highlights:

  • DXN has signed significant contracts for four cable landing stations for the East Micronesia Cable System (EMCS).

  • Deployment will be across four islands and the schedule for delivery will be between January 2025 and March 2025, with progress payments over the period from signing until delivery.

  • The cable landing stations are to support the fibre optic cable system connecting the islands.

  • DXN has been selected due to its experience in delivering cable landing stations throughout the Pacific Islands region.

Prefabricated modular data centre specialist, DXN Limited (DXN or the Company), is pleased to announce that it has signed contracts to supply four cable landing stations for a total contract value of ~A$5.7m (~US$3.8m) for the East Micronesia Cable System (EMCS).

The contracting parties are FSM Telecommunications Cable Corporation (Federated States of Micronesia), Nauru Fibre Cable Corporation (Republic of Nauru) and BwebwerikiNET Limited (Republic of Kiribati); with the projects funded by Australia (through the Australian Infrastructure Financing Facility for the Pacific), the United States and Japan.

Including this contract, DXN’s has secured A$8.7m in sales of modular manufacturing which will be delivered over CY24 and into CY25.

DXN’s CEO Shalini Lagrutta said, “DXN is delighted to be selected by the EMCS countries to deploy their cable landing stations. DXN has a growing reputation of being the go-to trusted partner to provide quality, secure and reliable data centre infrastructure for the subsea cable industry.”

DXN will commence design, prefabrication, and construction of the four cable landing stations in

DXN’s factory in Perth, with invoicing based on billing milestone payments, and an expected delivery of all solutions by March 2025.

About East Micronesia Cable System

The East Micronesia Cable Project will benefit up to 100,000 people across the Federated States of Micronesia, Kiribati, and Nauru. The EMCS is designed to provide quality, secure and reliable telecommunications connectivity via a submarine cable between these countries.

The EMCS project is a four-year project that commenced implementation in 2022, with an expected completion date of late 2025. Cable landing stations will be constructed at landing points in each country to facilitate connection to the main submarine cable. The project is a joint initiative of the Governments of the Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Kiribati, and Republic of Nauru, and is funded jointly by Australia (through the Australian Infrastructure Financing Facility for the Pacific), the United States and Japan.
