APPOINTMENT OF NEW BOARD MEMBERS

HIGHLIGHTS

• DXN adds significant data centre technical expertise to its board by appointing Mr. John Duffin, independent Director;

• Mr John Duffin was most recently the Managing Director, South Asia at Uptime Institute (UTI) based in Singapore. UTI is the global authority in certification of data centre operations;

• Mr Tim Desmond, the co-founder of Data Exchange and DXN’s technical leader in Asia based in DXN’s new Manila office has also been appointed to the Board;

• Along with Mr Richard Carden, based in Singapore who has 25 years of telecommunications and data centre industry experience throughout Asia, these additions give DXN a strong team able to take advantage of opportunities recently identified in a number of South-East Asian countries.

The Data Exchange Network Limited (ASX: DXN) (“Data Exchange”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr John Duffin and Mr Timothy Desmond to the Board, effective 1 October 2018.

Data Exchange’s unique style of modular data centre construction is particularly suited to emerging opportunities in Asia where rapid deployment of medium-scale data centres in multiple locations is preferred to the typical hyper-scale approach of Singapore, Tokyo and Hong Kong. Since achieving UTI Tier-Ready III award, Data Exchange has experienced increasing levels of interest for data centre development through joint ventures with local telecommunications and sub-sea fibre operators. To ensure Data Exchange has strong executive and operational capability in Asia to service demand, the Board has taken the step of appointing two new directors based in Asia to complement the progress being made by Mr Carden to advance these new opportunities. Mr Carden has over 25 years of telecommunications, sub-sea fibre and data centre experience throughout Asia.

Mr Duffin has over 20 years of experience within the Asian data centre industry, leading businesses focussing on engineering infrastructure consultancy, design, operations and certification. Mr Duffin has extensive experience working in Australia, New Zealand, South East Asia, US and UK on the design and operation of critical data centre facilities in the commercial colocation, telecommunications and financial services sectors. Mr Duffin’s former experience includes AECOM Singapore, Arup (Australia) Ltd which was responsible for the 16,500m[2] Digital Realty Singapore DC and Level 3 Asia. Mr Duffin holds a Master of Environmental Engineering from South Bank University and a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from the University of Bath.

Mr Desmond is a co-founder of Data Exchange and the original visionary responsible for the high-density modular data centre concepts being commercialised by Data Exchange. Mr Desmond also designed Data Exchange’s in-house monitoring, management and access control software that will be released to support the new data centre’s being delivered in Sydney and Melbourne later this year. Mr Desmond has recently relocated to The Philippines to setup technical operations in the new Data Exchange offices established in Manilla’s BGC commercial district and he is currently recruiting a team that includes pre-sales technicians, software engineers and operations support staff. Mr Desmond has extensive experience in the modular data centre industry and is a Certified Data Centre Expert (CDCE).

Mr Duffin joins the Board as a Board appointed nominee while Mr Desmond joins the Board as a shareholder appointee. The Board welcomes Mr Desmond and Mr Duffin’s appointment to the Board and believes that their strong industry experience and leadership skills will complement the current skillset of the Board.
