Dr. Hönle AG english
ad hoc Ad-hoc-announcement transmitted by DGAP. The issuer is solely responsible for the content of this announcement. ——————————————————————————– As expected, a weak first quarter for Hönle; Increase in new orders in January 2002 Planegg/Munich, 25 February 2002. Hönle, one of the leading suppliers of industrial UV technology generated sales of TEUR 3,011 in the first quarter of 2001/2002 compared to TEUR 4,703 in the same period of the previous year. This decline, which had already been announced in December 2001, was a result of the weak economy in all industrialised states as well as shifts in project business. Low sales had a direct impact on results; in addition, start-up costs were incurred for the new subsidiary, Aladin GmbH, manufacturer of UV lamps, and the Spanish sales company, Honle Spain S.A.. Consequently, EBIT in the first quarter of 2001/2002 amounted to TEUR -301 (Q1 2000/2001: TEUR 1,184), income after taxes came to TEUR -41 (Q1 2000/2001: TEUR 557), and earnings per share were TEUR -0.01(Q1: TEUR 0.11). In light of the increase in orders received in January 2002 compared with those of previous months and an improving economic situation, Hönle continues to expect sales to grow by approximately 10 per cent and results to equal the previous year’s level. As from the next financial year onwards, Hönle assumes significant sales growth and an above-average improvement in results. It is expected that the new subsidiaries will then also be in a position to make positive contributions to profits.
