DOWNER AWARDED SUPPLY AND MAINTENANCE CONTRACTS WITH WESTERN AUSTRALIA’S PUBLIC TRANSPORT AUTHORITY

Downer EDI Limited (Downer) announced today that the Downer Bombardier joint venture had been awarded contracts by Western Australia’s Public Transport Authority (PTA).

The contracts for the supply of an additional 10 x 3 car B Series units and for maintenance services on all “A” and “B” series commuter fleets are valued at approximately $512 million.

The maintenance contract will run until 2026 and replace existing option rights available to the PTA under the previous maintenance agreement.

The new 10 x 3 B series units will be manufactured at Downer’s facility in Maryborough, Queensland and be delivered to the PTA by no later than December 2020.

The Chief Executive Officer of Downer, Grant Fenn, said the joint venture had provided services to the WA PTA for 25 years.
