DOWNER AWARDED $180 MILLION CONTRACT WITH LOGAN CITY COUNCIL

Downer EDI Limited (Downer) announced today that Logan City Council has awarded a new program alliance to Downer for the delivery of up to $180 million of water and wastewater infrastructure services in Logan City from 1 July 2015.

The new alliance contract is for a three year period, with two one year extension options, and follows the successful completion of a six year public-private sector program alliance involving Logan City Council, Downer, Cardno and Parsons Brinckerhoff.

Over the past six years, Logan Water Alliance has provided almost $300 million of planning, design, construction and program management services for Logan City, one of south east Queensland’s fastest growing areas. The work has included laying 85 kilometres of pipelines, building or upgrading 20 pump stations, upgrading four wastewater treatment plants and constructing two water reservoirs.

The Chief Executive Officer of Downer, Grant Fenn, said the Logan Water Alliance highlighted the importance of building relationships of trust.

“Downer has worked closely with Logan City Council and its alliance partners to improve the capacity and efficiency of Logan’s water and wastewater networks and deliver smarter solutions for ratepayers,” Mr Fenn said.

“We will continue to work with our alliance partners to get the most from the existing water and wastewater assets.”
