DOWNER AWARDED CONTRACT FOR ARARAT WIND FARM

Downer EDI Limited (Downer) today announced it had been awarded a contract for work on the proposed Ararat Wind Farm Project in Victoria.

Downer’s scope of works, which is valued at approximately $130 million, includes:

  • construction of a 33 kV transmission network;

  • balance of plant, civil and electrical infrastructure;

  • logistics; and

  • erection of the wind turbine generators.

The Ararat Wind Farm Project remains subject to financial approval and certain conditions precedent being met.

Construction of the Ararat Wind Farm is anticipated to commence shortly after financial close has occurred.

Downer is a leader in renewable energy in Australia and has successfully delivered Collgar Wind Farm in Western Australia, Boco Rock Wind Farm in New South Wales, Lake Bonney Wind Farm in South Australia, and Waubra and Mt Mercer Wind Farms in Victoria. Downer is also currently constructing Taralga Wind Farm in New South Wales.
