DOWNER ANNOUNCES NEW WORK VALUED AT $275 MILLION

Downer EDI Limited (Downer) today announced it had secured new contract wins valued at $275 million, with Downer’s share of the contract revenue totalling more than $140 million.

The Chief Executive Officer of Downer, Grant Fenn, said Downer Australia had secured the following new road building and maintenance work:

Downer and joint venture partner Mouchel have been awarded a second Integrated Service Agreement (ISA) with Main Roads Western Australia. The Mid West Gascoyne ISA is for the maintenance and asset management of more than 3,800 kilometres of road in the north west of the state. As with the Metropolitan ISA announced in November 2010, the value of the Mid West Gascoyne ISA is not fixed and will be governed by priorities and budgets however it is expected that approximately $35 million will be spent each year for an initial period of five years with the opportunity to extend. Downer Mouchel has been named preferred proponent on a third ISA for the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
Main Roads Western Australia also awarded Downer, through a joint venture, a contract valued at approximately $40 million to design and construct the duplication of the Dampier Highway in Western Australia.
A contract valued at more than $60 million was awarded recently by Queensland Transport and Main Roads to the Synergy Joint Venture comprising Downer Australia, Civil Mining and Construction (CMC) and Probuild Civil, for works on an 8.7 kilometre section of the Bruce Highway, Cooroy to Curra Realignment.
