APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF RISK OFFICER

Downer EDI Limited (Downer) announced today it had appointed Campbell Mason as Chief Risk Officer. Mr Mason will join Downer on 22 August and report to the Chief Executive Officer of Downer, Grant Fenn.

Mr Mason will be responsible for the management of Risk across the Downer Group and also chair Downer’s Tender and Capital Committee, which evaluates and determines whether the company should approve major tenders. He will also participate in other management and Board committees as required.

“Risk management is critical for Downer and we have significantly improved our processes and systems in recent times,” Mr Fenn said. “The appointment of our new Chief Risk Officer will ensure we continue to drive improvement in this area.

“Campbell’s extensive operational and commercial experience in the infrastructure and logistics sectors and his strong legal background give him the skills required to lead the management of Risk across the Downer Group.”

Campbell Mason worked for P&O and DP World (which acquired P&O in 2006) for over 14 years. His most recent role was Managing Director of DP World Southampton, the United Kingdom’s second largest container terminal. He was previously Executive Director P&O Ports East Asia & Russia (based in Manila) and General Counsel P&O Ports (based in London). He worked as a solicitor with Mallesons Stephen Jacques in Sydney and London before he joined P&O.
