For the financial year 2001, sales totalling 15.4 million euro were achieved which corresponds to a growth rate of 49 percent when compared to the previous year (10.3 million euro). Profit before taxes, interest and depreciation charges (EBITDA) amounts to 1.9 million EUR. Profit before interest and taxes (EBIT) is 0.8 million EUR and the result from ordinary activities is 2.0 million EUR. Profit per share amounts to 0.22 EUR. Funds to hand have increased by 1.6 million EUR to 28.7 million EUR compared to 27.1 million EUR in the previous quarter. All in all, funds to hand increased by 2.1 million EUR in the financial year 2001. Sales within the Communications division increased by 19 percent from 8.6 million EUR to 10.2 million EUR. The Tools & Commerce division proved to be a driving force in terms of growth as sales increased by 201 percent from 1.6 million EUR to 4.9 million EUR. The number of users of the healthcare portal DocCheck (http://www.doccheck.com) increased from 70,000 to 130,000. Despite difficult market conditions, antwerpes ag was able to hold its own in the financial year 2001. During the first six months of 2002 antwerpes ag is expecting a drop in sales compared to the same period in the previous year due to restrained demand in the New Media segment. The company does not expect the order situation to pick up before the second half of the year.
