Profit before taxes, interest and depreciation charges (EBITDA) amounts to 0.2 million EUR. Profit before interest and taxes (EBIT) is 0.05 million EUR and the result from ordinary activities is 0.3 million EUR. Profit per share amounts to 3 cent. Funds to hand have increased slightly by 0.1 million EUR to 28.8 million EUR when compared to 28.7 million EUR in the 4th quarter of 2001. The share in liquid assets is therefore 4.89 EUR per share. Sales within the Communications division increased by 11 percent from 1.95 million EUR to 2.16 million EUR. The Tools & Commerce division was able to increase sales by seven percent from 0.93 million EUR to 1.0 million EUR and other sales dropped by 0.1 million EUR from 0.15 million EUR to 0.05 million EUR. Through the purchase of 51 percent of medicalpicture GmbH, a leading medical image database, antwerpes ag continued to press ahead with further development of its product and services portfolio in the 1st quarter. With the medicalpicture image database, antwerpes ag is expanding the range of services for its customers in the healthcare sector and for over 150,000 users of its subsidiary DocCheck. In the course of the expansion of the Communications division within the German speaking regions, the Swiss branch of antwerpes & partner ag in Basle will start business on 1.7.2002.
