STABLE DEVELOPMENT DEPITE TOUGH MARKET CONDITIONS
DO & CO Restaurants & Catering AG today announced its results for the first
half year of business year 2009/2010 (1 April 2009 to 30 September 2009) in
accordance with IFRS.
DO & CO achieved total sales of EUR 184.47 million, which represents a
decrease of EUR -48.18 million over the same period of the last year (PY:
EUR 232.64 million).This decrease of sales is mainly due to the EURO 2008
project in the first quarter of the last business year. Sales of division
Airline Catering remained nearly stable and recorded a slight decrease of
sales by EUR -2.53 million to EUR 134.08 million despite the tough market
conditions (PY: EUR 136.61 million). Sales of the division International
Event Catering decreased from EUR 64.21 million by -43.35 million to EUR
20.85 million. This decrease of sales is due to the EURO 2008 project in
the first quarter of the last business year. Sales of division Restaurants,
Lounges & Hotel decreased by EUR -2.29 million from EUR 31.83 million to
EUR 29.54 million.
The consolidated EBIT of the DO & CO Group for the first half year of
business year 2009/2010 amounts to EUR 10.78 million (PY: EUR 12.19
million). EBIT margin rose to 5.8 % (PY: 5.2 %). EBITDA amounts to EUR
19.14 million (PY: EUR 20.70 million) for an EBITDA margin of 10.4 % (PY:
8.9 %). The net result of the first half year 2009/2010 amounts to EUR 5.47
million (PY: EUR 6.14 million).
AIRLINE CATERING - EBITDA of division Airline Catering rose by EUR 1.31
million from EUR 13.48 million to EUR 14.79 million. EBITDA margin amounts
11.1 % (PY: 9.9 %). EBIT grew from EUR 6.93 million to EUR 7.83 million for
an EBIT margin of 5.8 % (PY: 5.1 %).
INTERNATIONAL EVENT CATERING - EBITDA amounts to EUR 2.12 million in the
first half year 2009/2010 (PY: EUR 4.85 million). EBIT decreased from EUR
4.05 million to EUR 1.75 million. EBITDA margin amounts to 10.2 % (PY: 7.5
%), EBIT margin lies at 8.4 % (PY: 6.3 %).
RESTAURANTS, LOUNGES & HOTEL - EBITDA of division Restaurants, Lounges &
Hotel decreased slightly from EUR 2.37 million to EUR 2.22 million in the
ongoing business year. EBITDA margin amounts 7.5 % (PY: 7.4 %). EBIT
remains on previous year level of EUR 1.20 million (PY: EUR 1.20 million).
EBIT margin amounts 4.1 % (PY: 3.8 %).
STOCK- The DO & CO stock recorded an increase of 32.1 % in the period from
1 April to 30 September 2009, closing on 30 September 2009 at a price of
EUR 10.7. The price corresponds to market capitalization of EUR 82.91
million (taking into account the shares bought as of the reporting date).
