The Board of Direct Line Insurance Group plc ("Direct Line Group" or the "Company") announces that Clare Thompson, Non-Executive Director and member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees, has decided, after serving on the Board for over six years, to step down at the conclusion of the Company's Annual General Meeting on 9 May 2019. She will, therefore, not be submitting herself for re-election at that time.

Mike Biggs, Chairman of Direct Line Group, commented: "Clare has made an immense contribution to the governance of Direct Line Group as a Non-Executive Director, a member of the Audit Committee and a member, and for a time Chair, of the Remuneration Committee. Her experience and wisdom have been invaluable in helping the Board and senior management to deliver excellent results for shareholders and customers. She leaves the Board with our thanks and best wishes for the future."
